Default Tying a quilt verses machine quilting my scrappy King quilt...

I have posted this huge king size scrappy quilt a long time ago. I finally finished it. When the long armer that I take my large quilts to decided to make her set up smaller and wouldnt accomidate large quilts anymore, I decided to tie this king size quilt. It measures 120 x 120.

I absolutely LOVED tying this quilt. So much so, that I have decided to break down my Brother Nouvelle 1500S machine down (that is on a portable table) . I feel like tying my quilts for a while now. And when I get tired of doing that, I will probably set my machine back up at some point. I actually like that way this looks and feels. It feels lighter and looks puffier, more vintage like?

Am I crazy for deciding to tie my quilts verses quilting them myself?

And of course, I couldnt have done that UFO with out the help of my loyal cat, George. He was a part of this project the entire time. If he wasn't on it, under it, next to it, then he would be on my lap lol

Thanks for looking.
Wendy

Tied quilts remind me of my childhood. When I was little and visited my grandparents up in Colorado, we always had cuddle quilts to wrap in.

Very pretty. Tying makes it look vintage. Just remember to read the batting packaging and place your ties no farther than the recommended spacing (from your pictures, it looks like you already know about this!)

What did you use to tie it with? Beautiful scrappy, love the vintage look.
