Talking Shades of Blue Carpenter's Star Quilt 2014

I had made this top last summer but with light blue everywhere that you see the ivory & hated it. After several days of wondering what to do, I decided to take the whole top apart & re-work it with a different colour (the ivory). I am much happier with it even though it took a lot of work. I also decided to make 2 pillow shams to go with it & have never attempted them before but finished them up today. The colours didn't show up very well when my DH took the pictures but it is a dark blue, blue/pink paisley & ivory colours. Hope you like it. I love Carpenter's Star & wanted one for our bed. Won't be using it until probably May or June but I can still enjoy looking at it until then. Hope my pictures work.

I keep thinking I would like one on our bed too and seeing yours makes me really want one! It's beautiful! And I love the shams too! What size are your blocks?

It looks great but I can't imagine taking a top apart to redo.

The blocks are 9" finished & for the shams, all I did was make a smaller version of the center star, added some framed borders & filled the rest in with the ivory background fabric. I'm sorry the colours didn't show up very well because they are really very pretty. If you choose the right combination of fabrics the look is beautiful. I am not sorry I took the top all apart & it didn't take as long as I first thought. I just kept telling myself "patience is a virtue". When God was handing out patience I think I took the day off but I really tried very hard to plug along & be patient.
Thank you all for your generous comments.

Beautiful quilt. I just used that pink and blue paisley in an embroidery quilt as an alternate block and took it out and used a lighter fabric. I can relate to taking out blocks and replacing them. lol
