Default Quilting Tools??

Hi, I keep reading about all sorts of new quilting tools and I began to wonder about them so.... What are your favorite quilting tools, what do you use them for and how often do you use them? Do you have any that you regret buying?

Regret? Probably rulers that do one specific thing and nothing else. Too far away to list them...

Favorite NEW tool is a NEW Rotary Blade!

Love:
biggest Olfa (60 mm) rotary cutter (thought 45m was great until I got hold of the 60mm)
Olfa cutting mat: doesn't dull my rotary cutter
Sew-Ezi table for my quilting machine
My baby lock quilter's choice machine
My 6 1/2 by 18 inch ruler with the purple 1/2 inch mark
Accuquilt fabric cutter with (5 inch squares, tumbler, log cabin, and a few other favorites)
special needles for hiding threads (open top of needle so you just pop the thread in)
small rotating cutting mat
gingher scissors (purchased a while ago)
1/4 inch foot with guide (so much easier on the eyes)
the speciality storm at sea rulers... so much better than pp'ing it .

Wasted money:
rag die for accuquilt
lots of the specialty rulers (now that I have accuquilt cutter)
a lot of the tools they have for FMQ on a DSM. Nothing has improved my ability there.

When I was a teenager, I watch my Great Aunt Maude quilt with cardboard templates and a pair of scissor. So my favorites tools are my 45mm rotary cutter, cutting mat and acrylic rulers since they are the best invention since sliced bread !!

This topic keeps coming up. So, you can search the board for many more threads like this.

I don't get excited about specialized tools. I have a rotary cutter and board, a ruler, and the Starmaker 5, 6, and 8 for the angles needed to make a 5, 6, and 8 pointed star. I also have a ruler with curves, but haven't used it since the class I bought it for. I could see buying the wedge and pattern for the spiral quilts, but they could also be done with a template.

My favorite is square rulers. I hate squaring stuff up so I have just about every sized square ruler I can find. Makes things so much easier. Next to stash up is a good flying geese ruler or a hoard of rectangle rulers lol.
