Someone asked about summer favorites. This is especially refreshing on a hot day, but we eat it anytime. The recipe is very flexible, based on your preferences or what you have on hand. In addition to varying the fruit, you can try using other liquids, such as frozen fruit punch concentrate, apricot nectar, add 12 oz. lemon-lime soda, etc. The recipe makes a large amount. You can freeze in several smaller containers. Also, I have frozen it in individual serving cups so people could pick up as part of a buffet.

Frozen Fruit Salad

1 C water
1 C sugar -- bring to a boil, remove from heat and add
6 oz frozen orange juice concentrate
6 oz frozen lemonaide concentrate -- stir until thawed, put in a LARGE bowl and add your choice of the following:
6 ripe bananas
Strawberries or mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
Canned fruit, your choice, minimum 2 cans
Mandarin oranges
Peach slices, cut up
Chunk or crushed pineapple
Fruit cocktail

Freeze. Remove 30-60 minutes before serving (depending on size of container) and serve when slushy

Hi Teacup: I plan to use this recipe the very next church potluck we attend. It sounds wonderful and I have LOTS of home-canned fruit to use in it. Thank you.

The first time I had it years ago was at a church mother-daughter banquet. That recipe used canned apricot nectar for the liquid. I usually use the orange juice, lemonaide and water/sugar, but this recipe is so flexible you can try any number of combintations. Hope people like it!
