Default Pearl and Sequin Presser Foot ESG-PP for Baby Lock

Hi,

I was hoping someone could help me. I have a Baby Lock Melody and I bought a Pearl and Sequin Presser Foot ESG-PP from Amazon. My presser foot will not raise high enough to snap on the foot. I have to lower my feed dogs in order to have the space to clear the foot so it can snap on. I don't think that is right because then how will my fabric move along? I haven't attempted to use it like that because I don't want to hurt my machine. I wrote to Baby Lock and they said it should be compatible with my Melody and to take it to my dealer. I am going to do that this weekend but I was wondering if perhaps someone knows anything about using that particular foot with a Melody.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Annette

Is it a generic, who is it made by, because usually you can't buy babylock products online, you can buy the brother version but not the babylock.

The listing reads: [h=1]Pearl & Sequin Foot - Brother SA150 - Baby Lock ESG-PP[/h]and it says by Brother. When I received the foot it came with a Baby Lock description sheet (that I know you can print off of the Internet). So I guess that is why it doesn't fit. I contacted the seller and told him/her how I had talked to Baby Lock and they recommended I take it to the dealer. He/She just said if it didn't fit I could send it back but I have two other machines so I am going to see if it fits on one of those and I'm still going to visit my dealer this weekend. I'm kind of sad. :-(

Brother and Babylock changed bobbin size a couple of years ago for embroidery purposes. That foot could have been made for an older embroidery machine. The newer mechanicals will use the generics from Sewing with Nancy.
I've used these:

I don't know about the newer machines, but I used them on older Brothers/Babylocks/Pfaffs/Vikings. Any low shank.
