I just deboned (a Bonnie Hunter word that means I cut them apart)) 22 shirts this weekend. Most of them will be used for background. A local re-sale shop gives me shirts that haven't sold after 6 months or they have a tear or spot. The good ones I wash and take to our local Wilbur D Mills Rehab center and the 100% cotton ones I keep. This is how my mother and grandmother made quilts - from garment scraps and/or worn out clothes that still had some good spots in them. I'm always telling friends at church that I want their shirts when they get tired of them.

Fantastic! I can't debone one faster than 7 min. for a shirt, though.

Well, the shirts I got were mostly men's shirts-but I have a whole bag of pink ones--but the problem is that I want to use some dark pink and while I have some in my collection, I want to use some that I find here locally that is 100% cotton and of decent quality. So I am waiting. Or maybe I'm still searching, thinking about a pattern.

I've also seen that one. It is totally inspirational, but you do have to have XL shirts in order to make that work, I think. I just take what I can get at these prices and sometimes they are smalls.

Very nice. I've been asked to make a quilt from men's shirts and this pattern is perfect.
