Thanks some more for the kind comments. I like the idea of the extension table, glad Soman2 showed his to give me an idea of what to tell my son. And, thanks Cricket for the additional ideas. The compartment to the right is actually big enough to fit the foot pedal and plugs in too. I'm going to have him make a notch so the cords can go in and the lid still sit flush.

If you will e-mail me the specs on the case, width across the front and the height at the sewing end, I will be glad to draw up a simple plan based on materials that are available at Lowe, Home Depot, etc. 1" x XX" # 2 pine boards and he can adjust measurements to suit your particular needs. I am making another extension table this weekend for one of my Singer Spartans, my personal favorite. I just don't let the rest of my collection know it-don't want any of them getting upset and causing any intentional skip stitching if I need to use them. LOL
