Default Moose in the window

My friend here on the boards, DJ encouraged me to post pictures of my quilts, I've always been reluctant as I'm amazed at other's talents and judge mine as just so ~ so. In other words nothing to write home about :0)

This is a pattern called "NORTHWOODS MOOSE" By Happy Hollow Designs #760 I was told by the designer Tammy Carlson that this pattern is only available through local quilt shops.

This is my first attempt at applique. I used pieces bonded with heat and bond and then appliqued the raw edges with invisible thread.

The pictures don't show that the background night sky was fabric in my stash and it looks like stars, because I love hot fix Swarovski crystals I added lots of sparkle to give the appearance of twinkling stars. I added a scrap piece of brown long fuzzy Minkee to his top knot so it became a bit more two dimensional. The moon I used Michael Miller's Fairy Frost sparkly white so the moon appears to shimmer too as does the reflection in the pond.

Hope this makes you smile, he does me. He's headed to our local quilt shop for shop hop the end of this month. I'm pleased that they want him to display.
