Default Quilt Away Weekend-packing for a fun weekend of quilting-1 week from today

I belong to a Quilt Ministry and one of the things that we do for ourselves is to plan and attend the Quilt Away weekend 2 times a year. I'm beginning to pack for mine and can't believe the number of UFOs I'm bringing to complete. I go to spend time with my friends, but the reason I love the weekends are that I get to sit and sew all day and it's someone else's job to make meals and clean up. When I talk about the number of UFOs, I'm not saying 6 or 8, I'm talking about 14 or 15...probably more. I guess I get bored easily. Does anyone else use this time like I do, as a finish weekend? Some of my friends work on the same project all weekend long....do you do that?

14 or 15 UFO's? That sounds like me! I've never been to something like that but I could see bringing hand-sewing UFO's or fabric/cutting stuff for cutting out other projects or quilt tops/sandwiching materials if there are large tables. I guess I'd think of things to do that don't require my machine. Gosh, have fun and gets lots done!

Yes, I do have a group that meets once or twice a year and we all bring UFOs to work on. We normally (depending on what is left to do) bring a few more than we think we can get done-just in case. Although it seems that we think we are much faster than we really are so there are some that don't get touched! It works out well and we always get quite a bit accomplished. HAVE FUN!

That sounds wonderful! A UFO weekend! I would love have something like that for our Guild. It sounds perfect. Enjoy your weekend. And yes, I have lots and lots of UFO's, it's a true chore to finish everything. But I think I would end up mostly quilting that weekend. I seem to piece them fine but quilt them is another story.
