Default Die Storage & Tips

I'm using a Big Shot to cut fabric for quilting. As my die library has grown I needed a store solution. Accuquilt offers a wire die holder in a few sizes from $25 to $35. I picked up a few letters holders at thrift store for 50 cents each. As your die addiction supply grows you can add more letter holders.

If I could do it over, I would have gotten all the same size. The frugal side of me overrides the OCD side of not buying matching letter holders at full price. But if I see another one for 50 cents at thrift store I will splurge.
The one below works well. Mine are pushed together on the back of my cutting table.

I hate the die packaging, so I cut off the image label and taped it to the actual die with clear packing tape.

It is very helpful to see the die cutting line, especially when placing scraps of fabric. Simply trace the cutting lines with a silver sharpie.

How do you store your dies?

I do the wire racks too. I did buy the one from Accuquilt due to the size for the width of the strips and the DWR. My daughter gave me a larger rack she was no longer using. They sit on one shelf, hold all of my dies and I will try now not to buy any more dies until I have used all the ones I have.

Me too. I will also not by any more fabric until I use 10% of what I have. LOL

I use letter holders for my rulers. I use the one on my cutting table for rulers that I use most often. One on a nearby table holds less frequently used rulers. I have a small plastic basket for small and specialty rulers. The big very sturdy letter holder holds die for the Accuquilt cutter. I got each one at Staples with good discounts.

I love the idea of marking the cutting lines with a silver marker! Sure does make the image pop!

I recently received an Accuquilt Go for Mother's Day. I don't have very many dies yet so I don't have a storage solution. I will probably also use a basket as my tabletop storage is limited.

I have the Studio die cutter from Accuquilt, that holds my strip dies, they are to heavy and big to fit anywhere else and I have a wood rack from IKEA and also store the smaller dies in the wire racks that hold 4 to 6 wire baskets .. works great.
