    Default Hexie patterns?

I am a hexie newbie....my vision is challenging right now-hopefully surgery in August to help-and I had to give up embroidery and applique for the time being. But I need a handwork project. Stumbled across some hexie quilt pix, and gave it a try. I can make 1" hexis-have not tried smaller ones yet. Where can I find free online patterns for these? I have a small stash of kaffe fabrics that I would like use for this....I am afraid to just wing it!
    Thanks!

I haven't found any patterns (I tend to wing it) but I found a website that allowed me to print out some hexagon graph paper (I just googled "hexagon quilt planner") which allowed me to create the pattern I wanted to make with the fabrics I had available :-)

I thought you were asking for ideas to put the hexies in a quilt? Have a look at this blog for some ideas -http://thehexieblog.blogspot.nl/p/january-2014-bom.html

Have you done an advance search on this site?? Recently, there have been a lot of interesting modern design to be made out of hexs on this site. I also prefer using the 1" hex. Good Luck with your surgery in August.

I used the hex paper and drew a U.S. Flag. I have 294 1/2" hexes in it. Draw anything you want. I want to start a diamond now and do that in the car as I travel. A Grandmother's Flower Garden is one that is very popular. Best of luck to you.

You can also search on Pinterest for hexagons or hexies. There are loads of ideas on there! Hexies are my new quilting passion!

I agree, check on Pinterest. Just yesterday I saw a table runner of trees that were made from hexies. Very cute.
My current preferred size is half inch. Which is what I will be working on while traveling this summer.
I need to start quilting my 1 inch hexie, full-size quilt.
Lots of ideas besides the typical GFG!
The medalion quilt is 1 inch hexies and the quilt of diamonds is half inch hexies

Kathy, your quilts are gorgeous! Love the medallion quilt! I have a pinterest board chock full of ideas-just needed to take the plunge. I made a flower last night, and it was so fun! Thanks for sharing!
