I think that is my exact machine!!!!! I make everything on her and she is a workhorse! You got so lucky to find her!!!! Once you get her set to sew cottons, you probably will not need to change the settings; I never do. The bobbins are easy to make and she sews like a dream. Oh, and mine was made in New Jersey in 1941. Yours is probably from near that time.....

I love the grey. It makes your star pop. You did an excellent job. I have a Singer 221 Featherweight - not in a table but I love to use it. I have never quilted on one before and you would only be able to do straight line stitching, but I think it is a possibility.

Love your Lone Star. All the fabrics look great. I have used Hobbs 80/20. The poly part is the scrim that holds the cotton. I just love that batting.

Gray is great. Your quilt is gorgeous, what amazing fabrics. The old Singer is a treasure. The 80/20 should work just fine. I love that this forum allows quilters from all over the world to meet and share.

First of all, your lone star is absolutely beautiful and does not look babyish at all! I think a grey background would be perfect for it. I know the vintage machines usually sew beautifully. If your practice pieces turn out great then use it for the lone star. By the way, I've been quilting for 4 years now and haven't done a lone star yet so I'd say you are a pretty advanced beginner.

Gorgeous!! And I love it with the gray. A very stylish color at the moment. I don't have advice on your other questions but wanted to chime in on the line star.
