Applique and scan n cut?
#2
I bought it and sent it back. I wanted it for fussy cutting of stamped images and the one I got was off by enough to bother me. It was way too expensive to let it go. But I know a lot of people love theirs. A few things to keep in mind- the mats are expensive. There is a special mat for fabric but I think some use a regular mat for it. Ditto for blades. At the time I checked, mats and blades were only being sold by Brother. Not sure if that's still the case. Also, you can only cut one layer at a time. On the plus side, there are many yahoo and facebook groups dedicated to it and I have heard that Brother provides good customer service.

There is a woman in one of my quilting groups who makes absolutely beautiful, award-winning applique quilts. She got the Scan-n-Cut and loves, loves, loves it. She can design her own appliques and cut them at any size she wants.
Hope this helps.

I like mine. search you tube videos as there are quite a few now. Learn the machine and do a test cut which is just a tiny square. If the cut is not clean turn the blade a bit ( there is a dial with numbers) and test again.

Here are a couple videos. the first one she is using paper and you probably wouldn't cut that narrow a strip with fabric but it shows how you can position your applique shapes. the second is cutting fabric
