Blade sharpener
I just bought a blade sharpener, electric, I believe it dulled my blade, it did not cut after I sharpened it. It did cut before. It is made by true cut. Has anyone had this experience before. I thought it was a neat idea but now I am not so sure.

ShiAnnF,
There have been many discussions on this topic & you are definitely not alone. Try using the search box to look up "Blade Sharpener" or "Rotary sharpener" and you should find several threads on the topic.

Make sure that you also put the blade back in correctly and if it is an Olfa that the ring and screw on piece are on correctly. I can never remember which is the correct way but you can check it out on their website.
I too bought this thinking it would be great. While I didn't think it really sharpened my blades enough, it didn't make them so they wouldn't cut.
I know these aren't cheap and it is an expensive lesson. I don't still have mine but if I did think I would at least send an email to the company.

I just buy new blades. I try to get them on sale. I purchased a rotary sharpener that Nancy zieman advertised on her show. I sent it back after using it and they gave me my money back. If it isn't going to work the first time I use it, it goes back. I have a tendency to throw things in the trash if they don't work. Dh said to just purchase more blades. I buy the blades from the same manufacturer as the rotary cutter. That way they can't say that is the reason for the dullness. I would send the sharpener back and tell them it reversed itself and dulled your blade because it won't cut thread.
