Default Tulip quilt-Done!

I designed this quilt last year using Lori Holts tulip block from her book Quilty Fun. I started the quilt long before her book came out when she offered the patterns for free on her blog. Of course I had to have the book anyway just because it's so darn cute. The piano key border has a 3D scalloped inner border, a technique a quilty friend taught me a couple of years ago. And the backing is pieced from my vintage baby prints. Can I say that I LOVE this quilt without sounding arrogant?

Like many of you I like to name my quilts. This one was hard because every name I came up(and you gals and guys) that I liked was already a well know quilt pattern. So....The border makes me think the top of a carousel at a carnival. I played around with a few carny ideas but nothing. Then it hit me that the tulips look like they're dancing in a circle. Blah, blah blah...and the name "Promenading Tulips".

Thanks for looking.

That is such a beautiful quilt and the quilting, oh my! Wish I could do quilting like that. Patience is not one of my strong folds.

I like the bright colors in your quilt. The border sets it off beautifully. Can you explain to us how you did the curved part?

As a friend used to say, "It isn't bragging, if it's the truth". And it IS lovely so you should just love it. I do, too. Yes, please share the border trick. Very clever. The colors are so pretty and crisp. Really, really nice.

Your quilt is beautiful. The colours are so vibrant. It makes me think of my Grandmother's flower garden. To her, the vegetable garden was a necessity but her flower garden was pure joy.
