There was lady in our quilt guild with very poor eye sight but loved to hand quilt so I would go over have a cup of coffee and load several spools for her. It worked so well for her.

I use this method, except I leave the needles threaded and sitting on my magnetic pin holder. It makes quilting go faster when I don't have to stop and thread a new needle every time I run out of thread.
