Charmin stars by Moda Bakeshop sashing
Trying to decide on sashing for this star quilt. Using what I have, no buying more fabric. Red sashing, green sashing (colors are true on my screen) or combination. I would do stripes with red in the middle. Thoughts?

I love both colors but find the red fades out the blocks so maybe the blue if you want your blocks to be the showcase. Using the red as your border would be nice though. What I've been doing lately is adding a pinstripe about 1.5 - 2.0 wide about 1.0-2.0 in from the body of the quilt. Breaks up the border a little especially if using a solid. If I use a 2.0 pinstripe, then I split the border in at 1.5 so the 2 strips are not the exact width. Just a suggestion.

I can usually make a decision on something like this, but they both look good. The blue looks calm, and the red looks hot, like a sunny summer day. Are you wanting a particular fee for it?

This will be a quilt for a young boy who is in a shelter. After reading your remarks I'm leaning toward green sashing with brown corner stones and the red border.
These aren't my colors but had 2 charm packs I decided to use. I kinda like the southwest feel of these stars.
Nan, like the idea of combination sashing but need to get this done. Thanks everyone for your help.
