Default The Stars at the Thrift Store Today

Went to the local Thrift Store and everyone who walked by these had to stop and look at them. Some played with the treadles and I wanted to bop them all. Wanted them all to know how special they were and to not play. Would have loved to have bought them, but we are downsizing and I just couldn't. Crying about it just looking at the pictures. And it was 30% off today too, but DH gets 30% off everyday because he's a Vet. The Minnesota was $199 and the Franklin was $149. When you lift the lid, the machines all lowered. But you all probably know this already ! Sorry pictures are so poor, but they are from my Iphone.

Those cabinets (and their machines) are fantastic. Wow.

The Minnesota has the prettier cabinet but I would have been more tempted by the Franklin. The Scarab is still one of my favorite decal patterns and it looks to be in good shape.
    Both are nice.

I am not an old machine collector like all of you are, but looking at the pics here of those two beauties....if I saw one of those somewhere, I would buy it. I am awestruck by the cabinetry and the beauty of design of those pieces........compared to today "quick" construction. I would be proud to have one just " sitting" in my living room looking pretty.......and a reminder of a more gracious time.......

I agree with you, Geri B. My mad money that I have hidden in billfold would come flying out so fast. I always think of the ladies who first got the machines I own and wonder just how thrilled she was to get that machine, as I am when I get them.
