Default Cleaning, organizing, reorganizing...Distraction!

In cleaning and reorganizing my sewing room before starting the next series of sewing projects, I've gotten distracted with dressing up my functional but somewhat unfinished cutting table...this is what I've got so far...but I really need to finish, coat with polyurethane, and let it all dry completely so that I can get to cutting the next projects...PIC ONE: the left side is 6 4" blocks including "Clay's Choice" because that's my husband's name. Most of the leaf and the area above will be covered most of the time with a basket that holds my rulers. PIC TWO: another view that shows the beginning of the 3" French braid border that I'm painting on the opposite side...I worked on it more this evening...just clean up the outer edges and the painting will be complete. My husband will finish the edges with a trim of weathered oak.

How big is your table to start with? DH is going to build me a new cutting table and I have a 24X36 mat. I like your borders, they look great.

That looks great! I think our spaces should be attractive as well as functional. Puts us in a better frame of mind.
