Default String piecing on adding machine paper gadget/helper

Sue Fish posted a tutorial String Piecing On Adding Machine Paper. In her tutorial she has an older sewing gadget she said she'd had for years called a June Tailor Sewing Caddy that worked perfectly for rolling the adding machine paper off of.

I went on a quest to find a duplicate of what Sue was using, watching eBay for months and months, never seeing anything close. I then found a retired couple on Etsy who did small woodworking items and offered to create special orders. They created one a spool holder for me and it's absolutely perfect in weight, size and finish even going so far as to cover the bottom with felt to protect anything it sits on.

I think I should say, I'm only a customer and at that a very, very satisfied and tickled pink customer of this Etsy shop, for their efforts in creating this useful item for me. I just wanted to share with you, in case you'd like this great little holder for your PP from adding machine paper rolls.

Those are really neat! One might work well too, to put a roll of binding on? Note on the Etsy shop page that they have several different designs.

Thanks for posting this. I have one of the old June Tailor gadgets. You have given me a new use for it.

These are usually easy to find. I use one for my binding. It is very handy for hand sewing. It has a magnetic pad for needles, a seam ripper, a place for small scissors and a peg for thimble.

My son made one while he was in school in shop class many yrs ago. I still have it --and lots of paper rolls for it. I never thought about using it until now for my piecing.
Who knew.
