Default Hand quilting finished on quilt for MY bed

I made this top over the winter and then my mother did the hand quilting. Just in time to take the wool comforter off and switch to a lighter quilt for spring!

The piecing pattern is a snail trail block in a storm at sea setting. The quilting pattern was customised to follow the curves of the snail trail and add some curviness to the setting blocks. All quilting was done in the grey fabrics to allow the russet stars to really pop up!

What a gorgeous quilt! And so special that you and your Mom have both worked on it.

what a wonderful team project, you both did a wonderful job! is this from a book? I've never seen the snail trail quite like that.
