Question Hand Quilting layers question

Hello everyone,

My question is when hand quilting do you quilt through all 3 layers or only the top one? Thanks!

You stitch thru all the layers. It is both decorative and to hold all the layers together. If you do not quilt all the layers you will have a big mess of batting when you wash the quilt

All 3 layers. The quilting keeps the layers together. If you quilt only the top the batting and backing will shift and cause problems.

Yes, that is what keeps all three layers together. Same as when you machine quilt.
