Default Beyond Horizons

The quilt pattern is by Ranae Merrill; both the pattern and fabric were gifted to me. Such a beautiful design, I put it high on my "to do" list. This is the first quilt that I "faced" rather than "binded". I am glad to have learned how to do it. It wasn't any harder than a traditional binding. It certainly gives the quilt a frameless look, which is pretty cool. I used the leftover fabric from the circles on the back. Thanks for looking :-)

Thank you for putting this lovely quilt on here for us to see. I love love your quilt colours and design. I never did hear about the facing way to finish off a quilt and found a great blog tutorial that I am going to use. It finishes the quilt so really nice. I think for some of the kid quilts I made it might be better then binding. Thank you again.

The back is just as pretty as the front! Border-less was a perfect way to finish it.

Not crazy about "modern" quilts but yours is beautiful! front and back! Will have to look up about using facing instead of binding. could you tell us the url for that blog?
