    Default Blue Gingham Sailboats

I previously posted a similar quilt. This one has blue gingham instead of stripes. I made all the sailboats the same and used the same thread and fabric. I introduced some red in the center and in each corner, there is also a red flag on each boat. After piecing, I worried the red might bleed. I washed it twice with a color absorbing towelette and there was no bleeding of red onto quilt, as the color was absorbed by the toilette. The quilt is for my daughters best friend, who is expecting her first child, a boy. It took several days to stitch out embroidery design, as it is applique. The rest was stash fabric. It has 80/20 cotton/polyester and that makes it soft and it drapes nicely. My pinwheels are great, at a distance, or at a sixty yard quick gallop! I just love sailboats and, I get seasick, go figure.

I remember the other sailboat quilt. This is just adorable, too. The pop of red is great!
