Cool Sailing with scraps!!!

I have been procrastinating over this quilt for nearly 3 years.... :/ I originally had different blocks to go around the pictures, couldn't get them to fit and it just didn't look right. Then I tried something else and still wasn't happy with the look, so I banned this "thing" in my cupboard!!! :P Not so long ago I took it out again, tried something and still no go.....and then, one night when I couldn't sleep and browsed the internet for ideas for new quilts, patterns, etc. I found something similar to this, although it was done with a jelly roll but the squares in between were all the same size so I had to improvise to get my different size pictures to fit and I didn't have a jelly roll but so much in my stash, I decided to have a go. I'm so happy the top is finally finished I just couldn't wait to show you . I think it didn't turn out too bad, what's you opinion??? It's a quilt for a man. I will just bind it with black (it already turned out bigger than originally planed...). Thanks for looking and for your opinion!!!

I really like it. It lets the pictures stand out, but provides additional interest at the same time. Your choice of fabrics is the key I think.

I like it too. It is so unique and also manly. The fabrics go with the sailing pictures. Nicely done.

l love the stipe effect. But l honestly wouldn't have included the pink & yellow...but added blues aquas and more water tones, just a personal observation.l'm sure he'll find it worth the wait

Very neat arrangement and it will look spectacular when sewn together. Well, oops, I think it is sewn together on second look and it IS spectacular. Know he will like it a whole bunch.
