Default Looking for....

While at the quilt festival in Shipshewana I saw a new magnetic pin bowl that I love. Of course, the vendor had sold out of them. I've been looking on-line and can't find it and I didn't write down the name of it. When you dropped your pins onto the bowl the heads of the pins all went to the outside of the bowl making them super easy to grab. Does anyone know what these are called, who makes them or where I could get one?

Was it metal or plastic? I have one that is plastic and it aligns the pins in one direction.

Check out the dollar stores. It is an automotive product used to hold nuts and bolts. Works great!!!
Dollar stores carry them and they are much cheaper than Amazon. Here is what they look like. (Round ones)

I have one that is metal and I got it at Harbor Freight which is basically a hardware store. I also buy my rotary cutting blades there which they list as blades for carpet cutters.

Harbor Freight is where I got my first one. It was the largest and biggest. The one you may be thinking of with the heads on the edge have been seen at Hancocks and JOAnn's Pricey! I have a smaller like Harbor Freight but it cost more and was from Home Depot.

I bought a magnetic pin bowl and I HATE it! I have only yellow head pins in the magnetic bowl. My other, multi-color pins, which are kept in a plastic box along with my seam ripper and small scissors, are also magnetized! (Guess taking them to Bee they got cross-magnetized) So whenever I pick up my scissors, a bunch of pins are stuck to them. I am giving everything magnetic away to a Bee sister who wants them and I am buying everything new! Just have to make a trip to Joann's to buy new.

I got this one a Harbor Freight, and the pins do line up, sometimes head out and sometimes head in.

Clover magnetic pin caddy is the one I have and it's the only one magnetic one I like. The pins stay in a line and a groove make it easy to pick up one pin. And it has a cover.

I got a couple from a local Napa store. A round one, and a larger rectangular one.

You might be talking about the Dritz Ultimate Pin Caddy. Check it out as it sounds just like you described.
