Welcome to the board! I've only done one quilt that was embroidery and quilting. On that one, I did a very rough cut of the blocks, embroidered, trim to size than quilted. I won't drive you crazy with a lot of pics. It was originally suppose to be redwork, which I may go back and do in the future, but I love this little quilt.

Welcome to the board. You will meet many nice ladies (and gentlemen) her who are more than willing to help. If we can't find the answer you need, somebody will look it up, and presto - No more problem

Welcome to the Quilting Board, I've found it a great place to meet people, learn new methods and technique and I've learned so much. This looks like pieces have been turned under and stitched down, with some embroidery, like the cage, clock and bird. It's lovely. Although I haven't done much in recent years, my Mom taught me to embroider when I was 6 years old, it was one of the few things she was taught as a girl, as she worked mostly with my grandfather with the farming and livestock, and was made to quit school in the 6th grade because girls didn't need schooling. I thought it was a real tragedy, however, she made sure all 7 of us kids went to school, and some of us beyond high school. My father had an 8th grade education, however, he left home at 16, made his way working at all sorts of jobs and eventually getting his electrician's license, so he established himself as a reliable electrician in the area.

Smile Welcome to this priceless Board

Welcome from Alabama to the board. It is addictive so be careful of your time. Hand embroidery was my first love before quilting. I now enjoy machine embroidery and use that when I must use just blocks mixed with pieced blocks to get the size quilt I need. Have fun with the ideas you will gain from the Board.

Default Adding embroidery to quilts is addictive!

I am also new to this board!

I do a lot of embroidery and beading in my quilts. You'll find it's addictive once you start and it opens a whole new world of stuff you "just have to have."

Here's an example of what I do:

Welcome from Southern California! I used to do hand embroidered blocks, then quilt them. Now I have an embroidery machine. It is easier on my hands - but I still love the hand embroidery. Your photo looks great! How long have you been doing embroidery? It looks very good to me.
