Default Which Batting??

Hello, I used to use W & N till my local fabric store ordered me a bolt of Quilter's Dream 70/30. I just assumed it was W & N as it seemed similar. Now I'm in the market for another bolt of batting but am looking for a good deal in price. Checked out Kingsmen website and they offer Hobbs 80/20 and Quilter's Dream 70/30. Is the Hobbs pretty close in the density like Quilter's Dream? Have no close store to compare around here so thought I'd come to the experts. Also both brands offer the cotton variety and wondering how they compare to the density of their mixed variety.

Thanks loads for the advice.

I LOVE Hobbs Tuscany 80% Cotton, 20% wool. I'm not much of a fan of their 80/20 cotton-poly blend. I use all natural fibers in my fabrics as well as threads, so don't care to have chemically made products inside. Infact, I recently donated my last roll of Hobbs 80/20 cotton-poly to a young quilter who just got a longarm, for practice batting. Just not a fan of it in my good quilts.

I prefer Quilters Dream 70/30 over Hobbs 80/20...seems the density/thickness is more even and is less stretchy. I like all of Quilters Dream products but Hobbs does have a nice wool and I like Warm and White for cotton. Interesting question and one everybody has opinions on! You can order samples from QD and Hobbs so you can feel the difference...that may help you decide!

I don't like the feel of the Hobbs. It fees scratchy to me to handle.

I love Hobbs batting 80/20 but unfortunately JAF isn't carrying that batting anymore. Quilters Dream is an excellent batting but out of my price range.

I love the Hobbs battings!
I order my bolts of batting from BattMart. I've found really good deals there & they have a great selection

WOW!!!! Seems about 50/50 between Hobbs and Quilter's Dream. May have to order samples as someone suggested to check them out for myself. All my quilts are gifts and some are for babies so don't want anything scratchy for their delicate skin.

Thanks all for your comments.

I did find Quilter's Dream 70/30 to be more dense than W & N what I thought was 100 cotton but now finding out there is some poly I think in the scrim.
