I first saw this quilt quite a while ago. Originally, it seems, there was a link to a free pattern, which has been taken down and replaced with a lovely embroidery that coordinates and was incorporated into the quilt the blogger made.

I've tried to track down the pattern, without success. I did try to contact Pink Caramel, the blogger, but did not receive a response.

Now I'm hoping that one of the best resources for information regarding quilting - this board, of course - can help. Any suggestions on how this was made? I'm attaching both a picture of the block and of the quilt.

With the link from garysgal above, it looks like it is paper pieced, starting with the center square and then layering around the square. Determine how big you want your quilt, the size of the blocks and do some practice ones with scraps. Neat block!

Looks similar the Navaho rose only with fewer triangles. Start with center sq, add first triangle, but start sewing about 1/2 inch from the beginning of the seam than add rest of the triangles, sewing the full length of the seams. After adding the last triangle tuck it under the first one and go back and finish your first seam. Hope you can understand what I mean. Good luck

It looks like a partial seam block. I would construct it by sewing a triangle on one side of the square and work my way around the other sides of the square. I would the finish the seam on the first triangle and trim away the overlapping fabric.

It looks to me also like it starts with a partial seam.

Looks like a square in a square with the corners overlapping. That would be the way I'd piece it. Either leave in the extra fabric or cut it off.

That is a lovely little block. When I glanced at it, it reminded me of a twister but bearisgrey's instructions make much more sense.
