Did he build the unit? If not, where did it come from? Looks like a great addition to a new sewing room, which I am currently working on. (The temporary folding ironing board I picked up at a thrift shop creaks and wobbles -- what should I have expected for $4?)

OP wrote somewhere in the topic that her husband made it. You could use kitchen base cabinets and add wheels. You can buy pull out shelves or the hardware and make your own shelves. I've installed these myself and it's easy to do. Drill holes and install dowels for the spools.
