Default Quilt of Valor, Trip Around the World

I just put the last border on this Trip Around the World quilt, which will be a Quilt of Valor after I get it sandwiched and quilted.

I think it turned out rather well, and I hope the veteran who gets it likes it. Does anyone know if a vet gets to select his/her quilt or is that decision made by someone else?

I don't know how the presentation process works, but whomever receives this lovely quilt will cherish it.

Thank you for remembering our service men. They come back often with physical problems as well as with mental and emotional issues. My son has been out the service several years and is just now appearing somewhat normal after dealing with PTSD. Unfortunately, PTSD is never "cured". It strikes at unexpected times.
