Smile Red & White Wedding Quilt

Hi

I made this Red&White quilt for my son and his bride....the bride chose the fabrics, the rest was up to me...
I had to enlarge the quilt with several borders to get it to king-size.
On the label I explained to them the meaning of the blocks....(my meanings, of course )

The center medallion is a pattern called <3Fireworks - this represent the love they share.
The four pinwheels in the corners is a reminder that Time goes by quickly...
The 3D diamonds are for those special diamond-days in any marriage and the white represents the space they have to give each other to be their own person.<3
The Red Friendship-stars represents family and the beige Friendship-stars for Friends.
Notice these stars are on the outside of the marital space - which is where they belong - outside any marriage.
In the corners are 4 Hourglasses....another reminder about time running out....
The delectable mountains represents the normal ups & downs in any marriage.<3

I enjoyed making it

A very nice quilt -
I love your explanation for the various components in the quilt. Good reminders for almost any family situation.

I love it... So meaningful . Especially keeping family and friends outside that special bond of marriage.

A fabulous quilt to begin with but made even more special by the meanings you have attributed to the different parts of the patchwork. Great job. It will be treasured for many years.
