Default First FMQing on a quilt

I decided this was the year to really give FMQing my attention. Since January I have been practicing on small sandwiches of varies types (cotton with fleece, cotton top and bottom with various battings). I finally decided I had to try something bigger. I have had a jelly roll race flimsy in the cupboard for about 4 years . I just was not inspired to finish it. I divided it into sections and put it together as inspired by a picture sent to me by a quilting friend. I used the motifs in one of the fabrics to come up with the quilting designs. I am very pleased with the results.
I have enrolled in a quilting class at Quilt Canada in June and am now really anxious to get going.

Nicely done. All that practice paid off.

Really cute quilt! What an interesting way to make use of a jelly roll race. Your fmq looks great. I'm still practicing, haven't gotten brave enough to tackle a quilt yet.

Love the results from your jelly roll race flimsy and your FMQing. It looks soft and comfy.
