Ideal makeover!

I'd like to know what your process was to prepare the metal before the repaint. I've got a few in seriously bad shape I plan on repainting. Though to be honest, I think you'll find many vintage enthusiasts would not consider that this machine was in bad enough shape to repaint, so you may get a lukewarm response.
BTW- are those Singer 101 decals?

I expect to get negative feedback and I hope some positive feedback. We stripped the machine and used a little auto bondo where needed. Yes they are 101 decals. The Ideal decals are not available.
BTW I really love chocolate, not sure I would like the "or something"

I think the paint job is really well done and looks good.
Though I also like the original styling better, especially since it's an uncommon machine that was in fair shape.
I would love to see, say, a Singer 15 or 66, or a Davis Minnesota all redressed like that! You know, if you have the time and all. *Hopeful smile*

REally cute handcrank. I just prefer original not just on the old ones but I know there are quilter/crafters who can't wait to glam up their machines. You did a good job as far as the painting goes though.

I have really mixed feelings. You did a very good job of it but I really wish you hadn't of done it to that machine. There are plenty of machines deserving of a complete make over, but this wasn't one of them.
