Default Happy Mexican table topper

While searching in my charm square box for a different project, I ran across some Alexander Henry fabric. I immediately became sidetracked, I love it when that happens. I like bright colors, so I got to indulge myself. I had recently purchased sombrero fabric at a great sale, so it was sitting there waiting for me. I did simple meandering, using variegated thread. It ended up as a table topper. I am so ready for Cinco de Mayo next year.

The sashing in bright orange, is by Laurel Burch. The border fabric was gifted to me by someone who prefers much quieter fabric. It worked out great for this project.

I love the sombrero fabric. The colors are muted and the sombreros look very old fashioned. The variegated thread in the quilting pops on the black background.

There really was a man named Alexander Henry but he was blazing a trail of interesting unique bright fabrics before Kaffe Fassett came along to wow us.

Fun table topper and will evoke a lot of conversation. Great fabrics put into a great project. Sometimes it is really fun to be diverted from the tasks at hand.
