Default Dashing

The layout for this quilt was inspired by Bonnie Hunter's "Random Ohio Stars." When I made that quilt, I loved the layout and wanted to try it with another block. "Dashing" is the result. It measures 75" x 88." I hope to try this with other blocks as well. The block for this quilt needs to be easily made in different sizes and rely heavily on contrast within the block for effect.

I used a tie-dye type fabric on the back, and it taught me an important lesson: Always measure WoF! This was much narrower than I had assumed, and I had to do some finagling to make it fit.

Here is "Dashing."

Really nice. Great idea to use a different block pattern.

Interesting pattern. I recognize that floral calico print you used for the border from my stash too!
