Default Quilt for the deer hunter

My new son in law loves deer hunting, so I decided to use this panel for a lap quilt. I did t want to do an all-over design, so I outlined the deer, then did some amateur thread painting of the deer, the reeds, and the trees to provide more quilting. For the sky, I added in some snowflakes. Luckily the batting is warm and natural so I should have enough quilting. The binding and the backing are the same black/gray winter bark pattern as the edge of the panel. I just did straight line quilting on the border.

In 2010 I made two of our Grandsons deer quilts. They both had taken up hunting because their Fathers hunt.
Not sure if they even use them.
