Default trail mix

Has anyone made the Trail Mix quilt? I am thinking about it, printed off the free pattern from All People Quilt website, but I am having trouble with picking scrap fabric. Was wondering if those who have made it used fabric of one color group and really mixed it up with any and all colors? Would love to see what fabrics you chose.

Why a very busy quilt pattern. I had not seen it before.

A very busy pattern, indeed.

I think it's a beautiful quilt. I just mix any and all fabrics when making a scrap quilt. To me, that's the charm of a scrap quilt.

What a pretty scrappy quilt. If you do a web search on "Trail Mix Quilt Pattern" & then click on images, you can see quite a few quilts made with this pattern.

Love this scrappy pattern! Thanks for posting as it was new to me. I checked out pictures of it in Jewel Colors, Purple/Green mix, Blues but I like this one that is quite scrappy with lots of colors: http://forum.apqs.com/index.php?/top...-she-loves-it/

Look at them on Pinterest too! There are some other color combos.

This quilt is on my list to do!

Just saw one at a recent show and tell. She used civil war fabric scraps. Browns & muted colors (reds, greens, golds mostly) with light to medium tans. Beautiful. she said you needed a design wall to keep the blocks in the correct order, although the pattern is so busy, you wouldn't notice if something was shifted.

Default Trail mix

I think this is the quilt "trail mix." As you can see, my version is completely scrappy, leaning to darker colors. I made it as a gift for my brother. He loves it.
