Fire and Ice, Family
It's been awhile since I've posted anything here on the Quilting board...with all my technology upgrades, I just figured out how to upload pictures. Was so excited to share these two....I am a member of my local quilt guild and our show started today and runs through tomorrow. Was so excited to find out today that these two each won a 3rd place ribbon in their categories. My first quilt ribbons EVER!! "Fire and Ice" is from Eileen Wright's "More Twist and Turn Bargello" book. I reduced it (with the formula found here on the Board) so that it is wall hanging size. The other is titled "Family and is my own design made with African fabrics that I have collected for the past few years. The black blocks represent family members. The top one is for my brother (in heaven), the two together represent my mom and dad, and the other represents me.

Congratulations on your two winning quilts. You did a great job on both. I love the design on the bottom quilt & it must feel great to be able to downsize a quilt to the size you need & to make your own beautiful designed quilt.

Your award winning quilts are beautiful. I like the bargello contrasts very much. The Family quilt is very meaningful, I know and thank you for sharing the story with us. Keep up the great quilt making.
