My Viking is not fussy. Old, new, any size, color or weight - she's a good old girl!

Guetterman, Mettler, Coats & Clark, and sometimes Superior SoFine #50 and recently for some memory quilts that were strange fabrics (including stretchy "denim") I used Valvaldi #40 cotton--just depends on what I'm working on. My Elna is not picky--thank goodness!

I really like Connecting Threads Poly for piecing. It's very strong and a 70 weight, so very fine. It's on sale right now for $4.19 for 3315 yards. I'm stocking up!

Mostly I use Aurifil but am not a snob either. I use what I have for the color I need, but have also been known to piece with a light or medium gray so I don't have to change colors. My present machine, a 1260 Bernina, will sew with anything. My Singer Quantum didn't like Aurifil.

I've been piecing with a Mettler fine silk wrapped cotton. I love it. I get much more accuracy with this thread than with the chunky basic ones.

For Machine Quilting I use Polyester Isacord. Comes in a ton of lovely colors, on a code, and it's super strong for FMQ!

Whatever thread I have on hands that is the best color for my fabric. But, if I was going to make an heirloom quilt, I'd use one of the thinner threads suggested above.

I love Aurafil. It's so fine and smooth, runs perfectly.
