Default Mondo bag

Has anyone made a Mondo bag without using the interfacing sold for the bag? If so, were you happy with the results. Appreciate any help. Thank you

Here's a smaller version. No grid.

I have made at least 6 without the interfacing that is sold for the bag. I had no troubles.

I've made a couple using pre cut 2 1/2 squares and the pre shaped grid interfacing. Using cut your own interfacing would work fine if you cut the correct shapes.

Where did you get your pattern for the Mondo bag without the lining?

You can use the first pre printed interfacing to make a template of the shapes needed to make more bags.

Yes, I don't purchase the interfacing any longer with the grids. I use regular light weight interfacing 10" across lay out 4- 2.5" sq, then 13- 2.5" sq down. Need 4 panels if you already have the instructions your good.

I have made several without the grids. The biggest issue was that I had people who wanted it, but not in the "checkerboard" pattern. I simply cut out 4 panels and did it that way. Used a batik.
