Default Help! What is this quilt pattern???

Hi,

My brother and sis-in-law sent me 2 quilts that my mom had stashed in her closet. I know 1 is a wedding ring but don't know what this one is! I would love to re-create it. It's falling apart and very fragile so I don't want to mess with it too much....any help would be appreciated. The "petals" are not applique but the orange centers are.

Thanks! I've also seen some similar called Jacob's or Joseph's Coat...you can find ANYTHING on Pinterest! None I've seen have the orange centers though!

I think the orange peel quilt is made with squares, this one is equilateral triangles with the curved 'petal' on the edges. The F&P wagon wheel is close, but it uses straight cuts instead of curves.
The one your mom made is called "Joseph's Coat''
Here's one pattern:
http://www.robertkaufman.com/quiltin.../josephs_coat/
however, there are many different ways to construct this to get the effect. Some are paper pieced, some english paper pieced, some are applique etc.
You will need to google 'joseph's coat quilt pattern' to decide which one you want to do.

You can buy the templates here

Saw a lovely quilt on pinterest - dark blue background with whitish melons - rather interesting
