    Default Spinning Star

This is a customer quilt I just finished for her. I just love this quilt. She found the pattern for just the center card trick star, but she had to make up the rest of the pattern as she went. There is no pattern for this available, it is an Amish design. Her husband and her worked on it for eight years and I received the honor of finishing it for them.

Beautiful job quilting this. I bet your clients may have had better luck finding the pattern with the other name it is known by "Star Spin". Traditionally the center motif is surrounded by smaller star spin blocks like these

It is also known as a strata star and several QB members have put up tutes for the center medallion. Here is one.

And here is a post that links to several tutes and some step by step pics

They did a fabulous job -- and choosing you to quilt it was a great idea!

Thanks for the information. I did not know that. I probably got the name wrong. I like that they did the log cabins instead of the pattern directions. It changes up the pattern differently. I am anxious to make one now, after I get my UFOs done.

Very nice. I like the colors.
I haven't had the courage to try those yet.
