Default can't find all fabric bleach anymore

I went looking for it today, in WM and a large grocery store. Nothing. Chlorine bleach, plenty of it. Spot removers, stain fighters, etc. - yup. All fabric bleach - vanished from the universe apparently.

I liked it because it had sodium perborate and was good for brown stains on old linens, etc. Same ingredient that is in the fancy "linen washes" that are sold in specialty stores but at a much lower price. I had some that was a powder and some that was a liquid, can't remember the brand name.

Looking it up online I see that Amway carries it, but I don't care to buy from them.

Sodium perborate isn't environmentally friendly but sodium percarbonate (one of the ingredients in Oxyclean) is. Both produce hydrogen peroxide as a bleaching agent in the wash. This may be why you can no longer find perborate products on the store shelves.

Did you ask? In my Walmart the color bleaches are not with the chlorine bleaches.

I found it at a pool supply/janitorial supply house. I bought a 5lb tub of it. It's still used in large quantities. Just not on store shelves. Kinda silly to keep it out of the little products and sell it by the lb elsewhere.

I think Clorox 2 is what you want, and it is still sold.

Haven't thought of Clorox 2 in years.....it's going back on the shopping list again! What about 20 Mule Team Borax? Can you use that??
