Cool Necchi Electra SX4000?

Hubby and I picked up a pristine Necchi Electra SX4000 yesterday at an estate sale. I am coming up with next to nothing about it on a Google search. Do any of you wise folks known anything about them?

Did you get a manual and bobbins? I did some research and it looks like it is similar to a Morse 9500 and Necchi 543. It has an interesting bobbin case and evidently the bobbins for it are the ones that will fit Singer 306 & 319.

Threading for the Morse are at http://www.sewusa.com/Threading_Diag...ng_diagram.htm It doesn't say exactly (or in a manner I can understand easily) which direction the thread goes, but I would guess that it goes over the top, from front to back.

Did you see http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...g-t254070.html It looks like Margaret still had some problems. I'm wondering though if it might need to use a stack wound thread or a thread stand for the cross wound thread.

Thank you you for the information. I'll look those machines up. ☺️

Great that you have manual and bobbins. Are those your stitches? Does the manual say anything about the spring on the top of the bobbin case? Does it also give better instructions for inserting the bobbin?

That's the same one I have. I had it serviced and then never used it. Didn't know it needed a different kind of bobbin, or is it just the case that's different? I suppose I should get it out and look at it again. Mine looks great, too, maybe because no one could ever sew on it! Hopefully yours will be better than mine.

Sorry I sounded so negative. I have a wicked cold starting and I just don't feel well. I will take a look at my E.G. if I get time this week!

I didn't think you sounded negative. I completely understand! I am recovering from an awful cold myself. I should have bought stock in Kleenex as much as I used. Feel better soon!

Huh, I need that Kleenex stock too! Every time I sneeze I feel a lot of brain cells moving out, and I can't afford to lose them!
