Default How do you measure Minky?

I thought I already posted this question but cannot find it, so here it is again. Every time I measure Minky, I get a different size. I'm trying to hold the fabric taut but not stretched. But I can't get a consistent measurement and the Minky backing is always bigger than the top. How do you measure Minky?

even with cotton, i cut the back a little bigger, so this doesn't seem to be an issue to me. you seem to be doing it right. the minky probably stretches a little when you move it. i'd just stabilize it very well, quilt, then cut off the extra.

I measure it by not pulling it. just lay it down and measure with a yardstick. don't pull it.
