Default Purple Checkerboard Baby Quilt Top

Got it to about 40 x 40 unfinished.

Nor sure what I will do with it next.

It's pretty boring at this point.

I like it but I agree it does need something. Will it be all purple? If not you can jazz it up with some red, orange, pink or green. I've been toying with the idea of a "quadrant" quilt. Each of the four corners would be a different pattern but united by a fabric or theme. If you wanted to try that and have plenty of the paisley you could use that to unify the quadrants. I don't know how it would look in reality; it's just something I've been noodling around in my head. It might end up looking like 4 baby quilts sewed together.

If you use this as the center of a medallion quilt, I agree that some appliqué would dress it up. Also since its so linear, a scalloped final border might soften it a bit.

Sorry, I don't think I'm much help.

BTW, I love the purple paisley fabric. I used a few purple paisleys for Emmaline's first quilt.

The purple is down to snibbles.

I have - maybe - a fat quarter of the paisley left.

I have more of the paisley, but it's a different dye lot - and even though it's not much different, I don't want to use it.

looks good, bind it or border it with a red fabric, it'll pop.
put an appropriate applique in the center and you've got a winner.

Very pretty. I would probably put a white border on it and maybe bind it with pink.

I think it is great! If it was mine, I would bind it with Kona pool. It is a great aqua and would add the touch you may be looking for.
