I use my strip dies (strip bundle has several useful sizes) the most. I will often cut my yardage so that the lenght will, when folded, give me 4-6 layers. that means that the fabric to the side (which I DON'T cut off) needs to be accordian folded so that it will easily move through the machine. Remember that fabric that is not sandwiched between the die and the cutting mat will not cut. Once I have the first cut through, I just slide the accordianed fabric over blades and take the next cut. Almost no waste that way. Also, if you "accidently" try to get 8 layers through the cutter and it stalls--just turn off and push the button again and it will back out so you can make corrections.
