I love peace and quiet when sewing! I don't usually get it though because my husband always has some sports show on in the next room.

I guess I'm the odd one out. I love peace and quiet without noise from a TV or music. Neither my husband nor I watch TV, so our TV is seldom on except when our granddaughter occasionally watches something. We've had custody of her for 13 years. She just graduated from HS and will be leaving for basic camp in two weeks to train for the NC National Guard. She stayed busy with activities in HS so seldom had time for TV.

I LOVE music. I always listen to music while I sew. While I love most all genres of music; pop, oldies, christian, country, jazz, and indie pop (I don't care for most rap or hard rock), my current sewing favorites are: Jack Johnson, Ed Sheeran, Jason Mraz, James Arthur, James Bay, Adele, Sam Smith, Norah Jones, Birdie, Shawn Mendes, Passenger. I can go on and on.

Soft music. Cold Play. Faith Hill. Public Radio. Sometimes I like oldies such as Rod Stewart. Some times kids songs--brings back happy times such as Lion King CD. I also do the audio books. Other times I will have a TV program on. CNN. Life Movies. Maybe a Soap Opera.

I watch movies on tv while I quilt and work around the house. I don't have the concentration to quilt for over 1/2 hour at a time then I'll get up and do something else in the house and then eventually go back to the quilt for another small period of time.

A while back I had gotten several DVD's for "relaxation". I put them in the DVD slot in the small tv I have mounted on the wall in my sewing room. It really does relax me and helps me to focus.

When I'm piecing I like it quiet. Or as quiet as it can be with husband watching TV in another room. When I'm quilting I do like music, usually CD's so I can either sing along. I have been listening to piano also. A friend that does LAQ always quilts to music, just about any kind that will help keep a rhythm going. I just can't do Southern Gospel, I go too fast with that.

I'm a TV girl. When machine piecing I put on shows I know inside out, when I'm hand appliqueing or hand quilting I'll sometimes watch old favorites but right now have a bunch of new-to-me Netflix shows I'm working my way through.

I, too, have the TV on, but when I do have the radio on, it's on contemporary Christian music.
