bought a lot of fabric today
to make a quilted jacket. Joann's had fat 1/4's for .70. How could I turn it down? so I got blues, like navy and things that would go with jeans. Solid Moda white is the other color.
Does anyone have any idea of what to do. The jacket style is a bomber jacket that Simplicity just brought back again. I had one in the 80's just like it. so any suggestions?? Please give me any ideas you may have. thanks.

If you use the Ibotta app, you can get a rebate for 10% of your total purchase.
Between the roll of W&N batting I bought a few days ago, and the FQ's I bought yesterday, I got $30 back just for my Joann's purchases this week.
If you don't use Ibotta already, but would like to try it, I can PM you a code for an $10 sign up bonus.

Using strips is an easy and effective way to make a decorative jacket. You can even use a denim or twill for the lining andr stitch and flip the strips right to that. No need use bulky batting or to line it.

What if you were to weave your fabric
This is just an example http://www.lazygirldesigns.com/pdf-f...-purse-project
But you could weave a large piece stabilizing your strips on a fusible interfacing and then cut out your pattern pieces.

thanks for the ideas. I originally put it under photos hoping someone will post a picture of their idea.
as far as Ibotta goes, I never heard of it or how it's used. I purchased the fabric in the local store.

I have made jackets also and I would recommend something special for the back and for the upper front. Use a piece of denim that maybe has something special on and use that. Also make the cuffs special. I would go onto pinterest or other sights for some other suggestions. Good luck!

For the 10% off your total purchase at Joann's rebate, you just have to scan the barcode at the bottom of the receipt from your local store.

I Googled -- cotton fabric quilted jacket patterns images
website: https://www.google.com/search?source...k1.cqEBo5AU53w
Lots of interesting pictures. I know one of them will catch your eye.
Edited to add: I have to laugh. I have spent the last 15 minutes avidly viewing all these darn jackets. There are so many pretty ones, some rather plain and others with log cabins or bargello looks and so much more. I just don't need another project. "smile"
